We recently completed a re-roofing project for our customer in Seattle, WA. Our customer had a 20 year old composition roof that needed new life. Our sales representative went over several options for this home, including color options that would make the mid century brick on her home really pop. After reviewing her options, our customer chose the Owens Corning Duration shingle in Brownwood. Brownwood is a beautiful, rich tan and dark brown shingle.
Owens Corning is a leader in the industry and offers superior products like the Duration line of shingles. By coupling the patented Sure Nail Strip with the TrueBond Sealant, these shingles are able to be rated for up to 130 MPH winds. As a result, this manufacturer’s warranty is the best available for any like shingle on the market. This warranty gives our customer real peace of mind because her home is close to the Puget Sound’s windy conditions.
Chimneys are a high risk area and should be addressed to withstand the heavy Seattle rain. The best protection against water penetration at the chimney is a cricket so water sheds away from the chimney and off the roof top. Metal flashings are always included with any cricket so water is not an issue.
During our initial meeting the customer showed our representative an area of the home that was particularly dark so we recommended adding a sun tunnel. Sun Tunnels add more natural light and brighten up any space. The right roof plan will improve more than the just the outside of your home. Now our customer is delighted with her beautiful new roof and bright new space!
