Peace Of Mind: Jim's Redmond Project With New Underlayment and Roof Deck
We’re moving on over to Redmond today to check in on our second veteran Peace of Mind project for Jim! With the entire roof in need of all-new decking, Reyes and his crew have had their work cut out for them, but they’re wasting no time. All new 1/2” CDX plywood is already in and work on the new Titanium X-30 underlayment is underway. Jim’s old cedar shake roof featured skip sheeting, which was common for cedar shake roof installs of the past. With the modern Owens Corning Duration Shingle in Estate Gray going in next, a proper plywood roof deck was required.
As is standard on every Valentine roof project, Reyes and team are adding Ice and water shield to high water volume areas, all new flashings throughout, installing new ventilation where needed, including a COR-A-VENT ridge vent system. Jim’s old failing 2x2 skylight will also be replaced with a brand new VELUX version. The previous gutters were also in need of replacement to keep water moving off the roof and away from the home, so our gutter division will also be replacing those with a new 5k seamless gutter system.
We can’t wait to see the final product from Jim AND Mitchell’s projects! Stay tuned for the final reveal!
